Pacer Running Section

  • DEEP JAPAN 160km: 93.2km from Iiyurattei to the goal

  • UONUMA 80km: 51.8km from Herb Kouen to goal

Pacer Participation Requirements

  • Must be at least 20 years old on the day of the race and be able to complete the course within the time limit without getting lost.

  • Ability to understand and comply with the competition rules.

  • International Trail Running Association points holder

How to apply for a pacer

  • Apply from RUNNET

  • Application period: 2024/09/27 12:00 - 2025/02/28 23:59

    *If a pacer enters with his/her own RUNNET ID, we will not be able to obtain the pacer's name, address, and other information, so please make sure that the pacer himself/herself logs in with his/her own RUNNET ID to enter the race.

    *When applying, you will be required to enter the Inquiry Number (11-digit number starting with C) that appears in the athlete's RUNNET Entry Completion E-mail. You can check the inquiry number from “Entry History” on the RUNNET My Page.

Pacer Participation Fee

  • DEEP JAPAN 160km: 20,000 yen

  • UONUMA 80km: 15,000 yen

Pacer Participation Prize

Pacer Reception Location, Hours, and Required Equipment

  • Reception area: Same as for athletes

  • Registration Time：At the time selected at the time of entry

  • Required equipment: Same as for competitors (except IBUKI GPS)

Pacer luggage storage, hours

  • DEEP JAPAN 160km:：same as athletes

    *If we can get into the athletes' drop bags at Iiyu Ratte, we will transport them to the goal site, Irihirose Elementary School.

  • UONUMA 80km:：same as athletes

    *There will be no baggage storage at Herb Kouen.

Traffic and Parking

  • DEEP JAPAN 160km：Please travel to Iiyu Rattei on your own or use the pacer's courtesy car.

    Pacer shuttle schedule (tentative)

    Irihirose Elementary School to Iiyu Ratei

    *There will be no shuttle service from the finish to Iiyura Tei. For those with their own cars, please park at the Irihirose Elementary School ground parking lot and use the pacer pick-up vehicle, unless you are able to drive your supporter's car.

  • UONUMA 80km：Please go to Herb Kouen by yourself. (There will be no pacer pick-up vehicle.)

About Aid Stations

  • DEEP JAPAN 160km：No access to Iiyu Ratei aid station before the pacer start. After the start, aid stations will be available for use by pacers as well as racers.

  • UONUMA 80km：No aid stations available for pacers.

Waiting space at the pacer start point

  • DEEP JAPAN 160km：Due to limited space at Iiyu Ratei (HAYABUSA), please do not take up too much space and share the space.

  • UONUMA 80km：Space at Herb Kouen is limited, so please do not take up too much space.

Confirmation of Arrival of Athletes

  • Please determine the arrival time of players by your own IBUKI GPS or cell phone.

Pacer Precautions

  • Pacers are allowed to pacer from Iyurattei to the finish line even if the 160 km course is reduced to 130 km.

  • If the 160 km course is taken by an athlete, the pacer must also go with the athlete to the 160 km course.

  • No refunds will be made in the event that a pacer retires during the race and is unable to run the 160 km course.

  • If a pacer retires (abandons), the pacer must retire in the same way as the athlete. If the pacer retires, the athlete may continue.

  • If a pacer retires, the pacer alone is not allowed to run.

  • Pacers will only run alongside for the athletes and will not be allowed to carry the athletes' rations, required equipment, etc.

  • Failure to carry the required equipment will result in disqualification of the athlete and penalty time will be added to the athlete's time.
